Chicago’s “official troubadour” headlines fall festival in Plymouth November 11 & 12
PLYMOUTH IN - The Wild Rose Moon, 115 N. Michigan Street, welcomes Chicago’s “official troubadour” Mark Dvorak to its first Fall Festival Friday and Saturday, November 11 and 12.
“We feel lucky to be presenting Mark in our first Fall Festival,” said Executive Director George Schricker. “He is a sincere and beautiful singer and one of the keepers of the flame for folk music and social justice. And we’re so excited for all the great things coming together at The Moon.”

“In 2016 we assembled a full board of directors and completed the process of becoming a 501(c)(3) non-profit organization,” he said. "The Moon is now a full-fledged arts organization, and we’re on some solid footing."
On Friday, November 11 The Wild Rose Moon will present “An Intimate Evening with Mark Dvorak.” The show begins at 7:30 pm and will feature Dvorak, who accompanies himself on guitar, 5-string banjo and 12-string guitar.
“He’s the real deal,” said Bau Graves, Executive Director of Chicago’s Old Town School of Folk Music. ”Mark has made music his life and his livelihood. His performances are elegant, rich and powerful. He’s been a top faculty member at the school for just about thirty years now, and is a recipient of the Old Town School’s Outstanding Teacher Award.”
On Saturday at 5:00 pm, November 12, Dvorak will lead an informal workshop titled, “Finding Your Folk.” The session will include a brief history of the Old Town School, and an interactive discussion on why folk music is an integral art form. Those interested in attending should bring their acoustic instruments.
On Saturday, November 12, Dvorak will join local musician and song leader Joe Taschetta and a host of Moon musicians for an all-ages hootenanny sing-along concert to benefit the Wild Rose Moon. The show begins at 7:30 pm and will feature a selection of familiar folk songs, sing along favorites and a few surprises.
