Folk musician Dvorak back home for Two Way Street Coffee House appearance February 10
DOWNERS GROVE IL - The Two Way Street Coffee House, 1047 Curtiss, will present Chicago’s “official troubadour” Mark Dvorak on Friday, February 10 at 8:15 pm.
When the singer-songwriter began his career in music, he knew right away he was in it for the long haul. Thirty-five years later, the February 10 show marks an important milestone.
“At this stage of the game I feel like I’m doing my best work,” said Dvorak. “The Two Way Street has been important. It’s where I got my start in performing. I’ve played a lot of music in that little room, and have a lot of memories.”

The little room is the Two Way Street Coffee House, located in the basement of the First Congregational Church of Downers Grove. The Two Way Street opened its doors as a folk and acoustic music venue forty-six years ago.
Dvorak has performed in thirty-eight states and in parts of Europe and Canada. He has released seventeen albums and has won awards for journalism and children’s music. In 2008 he received the Woodstock Folk Festival Lifetime Achievement Award and the Lantern Bearer Award from Folk Alliance International in 2013.
“He’s the real deal,” said Bau Graves, Executive Director of the Old Town School of Folk Music in Chicago, where Dvorak has been on faculty for more than twenty-five years. ”Mark has made music his life and livelihood. His performances are elegant, rich and powerful. He is one of the Old Town School’s Distinguished Teaching Artists.”
Doors open at 7:30 pm. Suggested donation is $10. Coffee, tea, soft drinks and light snacks are available. For more information phone 630 969 9720 or visit the Two Way Street Coffee House home page at www.twowaystreet.org.
