Music in the Park features Midwest double bill
LAKEVIEW MI - The Village of Lakeview will present “Music In the Park” featuring the Midwest songwriting duo The Thornton’s along with Chicago’s “official troubadour” Mark Dvorak, for an evening of song and story on Wednesday, July 29 at 7:00 pm. The event takes place at the Radar Outdoor Theater, 633 Lincoln Avenue.

Lakeview residents Mathew and Sherri Thornton have been performing together since 2017. They each enjoyed a long career in the music industry performing on studio sessions and commercial music projects.
“We met Mark last autumn at a music conference in Chicago.,” said Mathew. “We decided to collaborate on a handful of shows in Michigan and the Midwest. We’re thrilled to have him with us in our hometown.”
“The Thorntons are special folks,” said Dvorak from his home outside Chicago. “Their songs possess a rare quality, enchanting, I’d say. Their harmony singing is spot on and their message is always thoughtful and warm.”
Dvorak has given concerts in almost all of the United States and has made visits to Finland, Canada and Ireland. He has released twenty albums of traditional, Americana and original song including 2020s Let Love Go On and 2024s Live & Alone. The Chicago Tribune called him ‘masterful,” and the Fox Valley Folk Festival describes him as “a living archive of song and style.”
Music In the Park is free, family-friendly event. For information phone the Village of Lakeview at 989.352.6322 or visit www.villageoflakeview.org.
