Niles Senior Center features Chicago folk artist on October 1
NILES IL - The Niles Senior Center, 999 Civic Center Drive, welcomes Chicago’s “official troubadour” Mark Dvorak for a special luncheon concert on Thursday, October 1 at 1:00 pm. The luncheon will be served at 12:30 pm.

Dvorak who accompanies himself on guitar, 5-string banjo and 12-string guitar, has performed in thirty-eight states and in parts of Europe and Canada. He has release twenty albums and has won awards for journalism and children’s music.In 2013 he received the Lantern Bearer Award from Folk Aliance International, and in 2008 he received the Woodstock Folk Festival Lifetime Achievment Award.
In 2012 the WFMT 98.7 fm radio program The Midnight Special named him “Chicago’s official troubadour.”
“We’re very happy to welcome Mark back to our series,” said Angela Murphy, program coordinator for the Center. “He is an amazing musician and storyteller, and has become a favorite with our audience.”
The Chicago Tribune Dvorak “masterful,” and the Fox Valley Folk Festival describes him as “a living archive of song and style.”
The luncheon menu will include salad, asiago-crusted chicken, pasta and desert.
