Acoustic Neighbors returns live stream November 30
BROOKFIELD IL - Music & Potlucks, a 501(c)(3) community organization, will present Acoustic Neighbors, a live stream acoustic and spoken word showcase on Wednesday, November 30 at 5:30 pm central time.
The event is hosted folk singer songwriter Mark Dvorak and will feature the whimsical singer songwriter & raconteur Sue Fink from Chicago, Lansing, Michigan’s storyteller, poet & author Ruelaine Stokes, national champion autoharpist Ivan Stiles from Philadelphia, Pennsylvania, the wonderful guitarist and songwriter Sammy Byerly from Sandwich, Illinois, St. Louis, Missouri area pedal harpist Tim Lilly and Illinois’ own songwriter, recording artist and folk historian Chris Vallillo from Macomb, Illinois.
“Bringing community musicians together for the purpose of supporting our neighbors in need is at the core of our mission,” said Dvorak, who has worked with Music & Potlucks, since it’s inception in 2017. "We come from different parts of the Midwest and different parts of the country but we are fortunately connected through music and the spoken word arts.”
The Oak Park River Forest area based Music & Potlucks has presented over ninety live and live stream events since March of 2017 and has raised thousands of dollars for agencies who serve those need: Helping Hand, Share Food Share Love Food Pantry, Housing Forward, Beyond Hunger Food Pantry, the West Suburban Community Pantry, the Frank Hamilton School, the Old Town School of Folk Music Employee Support Fund and many others.
