Music & Potlucks presents Acoustic Neighbors live stream showcase August 25
OAK PARK IL - Music & Potlucks, a 501(c)(3) non-profit community organization, will present Acoustic Neighbors, an acoustic music and spoken word showcase on Wednesday, August 25 at 7:00 pm CDT. The free, all-ages event will be hosted by Midwest troubadour Mark Dvorak and feature six other performers.
The event features a revolving cast of acoustic musicians, singer songwriters and spoken artists. The August 25 event will feature singer songwriter Christina Marie Eltrevoog from Ottawa, Illinois, Milwaukee, Wisconsin’s guitarist and song writer Craig Siemsen, song leader and banjoist Sally Potter from Lansing, Michigan, Ed McKenzie from Chicago, Illinois who is also a Franciscan priest, poet, author and spoken word artist Ruelaine Stokes, also from Lansing, Michigan and Ludington, Michigan’s folk performer Mike Lenich.
The Oak Park area based Music & Potlucks has presented over fifty-five live and live stream events since March of 2017 and has raised thousands of dollars for area food pantries, homeless shelters and other charities.
“Bringing community musicians together for the purpose of supporting our neighbors in need is at the core of our mission,” said Dvorak, who has worked with Music & Potlucks, since it’s inception in 2017. "We come from different parts of the Midwest and different parts of the country but we are fortunately connected through music and the spoken word arts.”
