BUFFALO MO - When Chicago singer songwriter Mark Dvorak began his career in music, he knew right away he was in it for the long haul. Thirty-two years later Dvorak is still writing, on the road performing, and recording.

Let Love Go On  is Dvorak’s eighteenth recorded release and represents a creative milestone. He produced, engineered, mix and mastered the entire project. Further, he wrote seven of the songs, played all of the instruments and sang all the parts.

The disc was released on Dvorak’s independent label, Ten Fingers, just one month before the shelter-in-place order due to the COVID-19 virus pandemic.

“It’ll be great to get back on the road after this long layoff,” said the singer from his home outside Chicago, Illinois.

The Old Home Place welcomes Dvorak to its concert series on Thursday, August 13 at 7:00 pm. The Old Home Place is Buffalo’s center for folk and acoustic music and is located on the corner of West Main and Maple Streets.

“Mark is a Midwest folk treasure,” said Jacquelyn Strickland, director of The Old Home Place. “It seems he’s been on the road a lot of years and he’s been on our radar for a very long time. We’re excited that he’s able to make the trip down.”

“At this stage of the game,” said Dvorak, “I feel like I’m doing my best work.”

The Chicago Tribune has called him “masterful,” and the Fox Valley Folk Festival describes him as “a living archive of song and style.” Dvorak has won awards for journalism and children’s music, and was honored in 2013 with the FARM Lantern Bearer Award from Folk Alliance International. In 2008 he received the Woodstock Folk Festival Lifetime Achievement Award and in 2012 Rich Warren, long time host of The Midnight Special radio program named Dvorak “Chicago’s official troubadour.”
