8th Holiday Benefit Concert in Rockford December 20

ROCKFORD IL - The Rockford Listening Room, 201 7th Street will present a holiday concert to benefit Rockford Urban Ministries on Friday, December 20 at 7:00 pm. The concert features Chicago’s internationally renown troubadour Mark Dvorak and guitar icon Eric Lambert as well as other special guests.. 

With the closing of Just Goods Free Trade Store, who sponsored the Friday Rockford Listening Room series, Stanley Campbell of Rockford Urban Ministries (RUM) has stepped to keep the series going.

“Stanley has been a saint in making sure we can complete our season,” said Ron Holm music director for the Rockford Listening Room. “The Just Goods Friday series has become a weekly gathering place and a highlight on the Rockford music scene.”


All proceeds from the eighth Holiday Concert will go directly to support Rockford Urban Ministries.

Mark Dvorak was named Chicago’s “official troubadour” by WFMT 98.7 fm Midnight Special host Rich Warren in 2012. He has won awards for children’s music, journalism and received the FARM Lantern Bearer Award from Folk Alliance International. In 2008 he was given the Woodstock Folk Festival Lifetime Achievement Award.

Eric Lambert is a world-class flat-picking guitarist, sought-after educator, and outstanding performer, Lambert performs solo, as well as teamed upwith other high-caliber musicians.  Recent accolades include the 2015 Best Entertainer Chicago Music Award.


Along with Dvorak and Lambert there will be performances by other area favorites.
