Folk artist Dvorak brings music to Oak Park summer lunch program

OAK PARK IL - The Oak Park River Forest Food Pantry will distribute meals for children and teens eighteen years of age and younger Monday through Friday between July 10 and August 18.

Breakfast will be available between 9:00 am and 10:00 am, and lunch will be available from noon until 1:00 pm at New Life Ministries, 634 N. Austin Blvd.

Lunch will be served from noon until 1:00 pm at Light of Liberty Church, 2 Washington Blvd.

The Summer Meals are provided by the Greater Chicago Food Depository and are reimbursed through the Summer Food Service Program of the United States Department of Agriculture. 

“Our sites are open to the public,” said Oak Park River Forest Food Pantry Nutrition Program Assistant Lauren Draftz. “Any child 18 and under can come in and get a free lunch or breakfast no questions asked.”

“This year we invited our friend Mark Dvorak to entertain our guests, and we’re so excited to have him.”

Dvorak has given performances for over four years at the Oak Park River Forest Food Pantry through a grant from the Oak Park Area Arts Council and the Songs for Peace and Justice Fund. He will give a  lunchtime show on August 3rd at New Life Ministries, and on August 17 at Light of Liberty Church.
