Let Love Go On CD release

Let Love Go On CD release and dessert potluck in La Grange February 23

LA GRANGE IL - Music & Potlucks, a community organization, will present a special concert, “Let Love Go On,” at the La Grange Public Library on Sunday, February 23 at 2:00 pm. The library is located at 10 W. Cossitt Avenue.

The event celebrates the release of Let Love Go On, the latest CD from Midwest folk troubadour Mark Dvorak and will also support the Share Food Share Love Food Pantry in Brookfield.

“This will be our nineteenth event,” said Music & Potlucks co-director Stephanie Schrodt of River Forest. Our mission is to present programs that gather our community together and at the same time provide some assistance to our neighbors in need. We’re thrilled to be partnering with the La Grange Public Library.”

Singer songwriter Mark Dvorak has won awards for journalism and children’s music, and received the 2013 FARM Lantern Bearer Award from Folk Alliance International. In 2008 he was honored with the Woodstock Folk Festival Lifetime Achievement Award and in 2012 WFMT 98.7 fm Midnight Special host Rich Warren named him “Chicago’s official troubadour.”

“At this stage of the game said the singer, “I feel like I’m doing my best work.”

Let Love Go On is Dvorak’s eighteenth recorded release and represents a creative milestone. He produced, arranged, engineered, mixed and mastered the entire project. Further, he played all of the instruments and sang all of the parts.

“It’s hard to put a label on Let Love Go On,” said Paul Schingle, who reviewed the disc. “Dvorak has never really fit neatly into one particular mold anyway. It contains a lot of variety, some cover material, some live tracks and seven Dvorak originals. His lyrical choices have always been thoughtful and intelligent, but with Let Love Go On his writing seems to have taken another step.”

Those who attend the free event are encouraged to bring store-bought desserts to share and in-date canned food items to be passed along to the Share Food Share Love Pantry. Donations will be accepted. Copies of Let Love Go On will be available for purchase.
