An evening of original song in Wilmette with Dvorak, Hawkins

L - C J Arthur's welcomes Mark Dvorak and David Hawkins for a special night of original song on Sunday, September 16, 6:30 pm. CJ Arthur''s is located at 1168 Wilmette Avenue, Wilmette. Both artists will introduce songs from their new CDs.
Midwest Folk Troubadour Mark Dvorak continues to balance his time as a folk singer, songwriter, teacher and touring musician. His most recent release, Time Ain't Got Nothin' On Me has been widely acclaimed and received airplay throughout the United States and Canada. The Chicago Tribune calls him, "Masterful," while SING OUT! Magazine says, "Dvorak shines!" His songwriting has been called "wondrous" and "profound," and WFMT radio has named him "Chicago's official folk troubadour." Dvorak was also recently named 'Artist-In-Residence' at Chicago's venerable Old Town School of Folk Music
"I'm looking forward to sharing the evening with Dave," he said. "I've always admired his singing, and am really getting into his new material. It'll be a fun, casual evening."
Singer-songwriter David Hawkins has found Chicago by way of Detroit, Tulsa, and New Orleans, and he has picked up musical flavors wherever he has lived. Hawkins new CD, Hello Mr. Death, is both powerful and gentle. It is literary and a distillation of spirits.
"The title, 'Hello Mr. Death' is taken from a poem by e.e. cummings," said Hawkins, who accompanies himself on guitar, and who is also a high school English teacher. "I've always loved language, and am really pleased the new disc is getting some attention."
