Peoria Park District to present Chicago's 'Official Troubadour'
PEORIA HEIGHTS IL - The Peoria Park District will present folk singer-songwriter and recording artist Mark Dvorak in concert at the Forest Park Nature Center, 5809 Forest Park Drive, Peoria Heights, on Saturday, November 10 at 7:00 pm.
"The Center has hosted a folk concert series every season for more than twenty years," said Mike Miller, program director. "We haven't been able to find a way to get Mark down here to perform again," said Miller. "We're glad he found room in his schedule for us. It'll be one of the highlights of our season."
Dvorak, who was recently named Artist in Residence at Chicago's Old Town School of Folk Music will be performing material from his most recent Waterbug release, Time Ain't Got Nothin' On Me, which is still receiving airplay eighteen months after being released. WFMT Fine Arts Radio recently named him "Chicago's Official Troubadour."
"With the great legacy of folk music in Chicago and at WFMT, it's really a great honor," said Dvorak. "I'm thrilled to still be a part of it all after so many years on the road, and in the classroom teaching. Artists have a responsibility to carry forward what they have learned from others; what they have been given. I'm really looking forward to singing again at the Forest Park Nature Center."
General admission tickets are $7. Seats can be reserved ahead of time by calling 309 686 3360. Visit the Forest Park Nature Center on the web here. Visit the Mark Dvorak home page at www.markdvorak.com.
