CHICAGO IL - Schuba's, 3159 N. Southport, welcomes an acoustic double bill celebrating the release of Birdy's new CD, Magic Days, on Sunday, November 4 at 7:00 pm. Birdy is a Chicago-based quartet whose vocal arrangements have become the trademark of their sound.

Magic Days is the group's second CD and highlights their unique spin on traditional material. The disc also features three new originals by co-founder Sharon Speziale. Speziale and alto Bianca Bevard began performing together after meeting at a campfire sing along in the mid-1990s. Since then they have record one other CD and appeared regularly on the Chicago acoustic scene. With the release of Magic Days, Birdy has added percussionist Meg Thomas and veteran bassist Roy McNaughton.

Also appearing on the bill is songwriter and folk singer Mark Dvorak. Dvorak will be performing material from his most recent Waterbug release, Time Ain't Got Nothin' On Me. WFMT Fine Arts Radio recently named Dvorak "Chicago's official troubadour," and he was also recently named Artist in Residence at Chicago's Old Town School of Folk Music.

General admission is $10, which includes a copy of Magic Days. For information phone the Schuba's hotline at 773 525 2508 or log on to www.schubas.com.
