Chicago troubadour performs in Greenville November 17

GREENVILLE IL - The historic Globe Theatre, 105 N. Third Street, welcomes two Midwest singer songwriters in concert on Sunday, November 17 at 1:00 pm. Chicago’s “official troubadour” Mark Dvorak will be joined by Illinois favorite Tom Irwin who has earned national acclaim for his songs and story telling.

“It’s all about the songs and the people who write them,” said Craig Baumberger, music director for the Globe acoustic series. “As far as I know this will be the first time Tom & Mark have shared the stage together. It should be a remarkable and memorable afternoon."

The Chicago Tribune called Mark Dvorak “masterful,” and his songwriting has been described as “wondrous” and “profound.” In 2012 WFMT 98.7 Fine Arts Radio named him “Chicago’s official troubadour.”

For over thrity-five years songwriter, playwright and Sangamon County native Tom Irwin has been touring, writing and portraying the lives of Midwestern people in song. Irwin lists Johnny Cash, Willie Nelson and Woody Guthrie as some of his main influences.

General admission to the concert is $10. A light lunch and acoustic jam will follow in the Globe Coffeehouse. The program is sponsored by The Globe Theatre, Bradford National Bank and WGEL fm 101.7. For more information phone 217 537 3585.
