“We are a music school and community cultural arts center, said director John Connolly. "We offer group music classes in guitar, ukulele and fiddle, very similar to the Old Town School of Folk Music. We feel there is a great need for this type of programming in the far west suburbs."

Dvorak, who is busy at work on his eighteenth CD release is looking forward to performing again in the Fox Valley

“At this stage of the game,” said Dvorak, “I feel like I’m doing my best work. I’m hoping to get the new recording out this year and I’m very excited about it. I’ve got some new material coming along, and I’m including a bunch of different things I like to do before a live audience."

“Mark has been on the road for a lot of years it seems,” said John Connolly, music director. "He’s a masterful musician and an essential figure on the Midwest folk music scene. We’re really looking forward to this one.”

“He’s the real deal,” said Bau Graves, Executive Director of the Old Town School of Folk Music in Chicago, where Dvorak has been on faculty for thirty years. ”Mark has made music his life and livelihood. His performances are elegant, rich and powerful. He is one of the Old Town School’s Distinguished Teaching Artists.”

Dvorak has performed in thirty-eight states and in parts of Europe and Canada. He has released seventeen albums and has won awards for journalism and children’s music. In 2008 he received the Woodstock Folk Festival Lifetime Achievement Award and the Lantern Bearer Award from Folk Alliance International in 2013.

A donation of $15 - $20 is suggested. For information call 630 492 1324 or visit www.hootenannyhouse.org. For more information on Mark Dvorak visit www.markdvorak.com.
