Chicago’s official troubadour performs luncheon concert at Mather’s More Than a Cafe July 9

CHICAGO IL - Mather’s More Than a Cafe, welcomes Chicago’s “official troubadour” Mark Dvorak for a luncheon concert, “Sub Sandwiches and Songs" on Monday, July 9 at 1:00 pm. The cafe is located at 7134 W. Higgins Road.

Dvorak who accompanies himself on guitar, 5-string banjo and 12-string guitar, has performed in thirty-eight states and in parts of Europe and Canada. He has released seventeen albums and has won awards for journalism and children’s music. In 2008 he received the Woodstock Folk Festival Lifetime Achievement Award and received the Lantern Bearer Award from Folk Alliance International in 2013.

“We’re happy to welcome Mark to our series,” said program coordinator Bill McCrory. “He is an amazing musician and a favorite in Chicago and the Midwest."


“He’s the real deal,” said Bau Graves, Executive Director of the Old Town School of Folk Music in Chicago, where Dvorak has been on faculty for almost thirty years. “Mark has made music is life and his livelihood. His performances are elegant, rich and powerful. He is one of the Old Town School’s Distinguished Teaching Artists.”

The program is open to the public. Lunch is served at 12:30 pm. Music begins at 1:00 pm. Meal cost is $9, suggested donation for entertainment is $9.
