Chicago’s official troubadour returns to Evanston’s Crystal Lounge March 23
EVANSTON IL - The Merion of Evanston welcomes Chicago’s official troubadour Mark Dvorak, for a return engagement at Crystal Lounge on Wednesday, March 23 at 5:30 pm. The Crystal Lounge is located inside the Merion, a retirement community, 1611 Chicago Avenue, and is open to the public.
“Mark was here last October,” said event coordinator Tammy Potts, “and our room was filled to capacity. Mark’s show is dynamic and musical, funny and entertaining. He answered requests and engaged our residents who came down for dinner, and our guests who were obviously fans. He’s quickly becoming a favorite,” she said.
Each Wednesday is ‘Wine and Live Music at The Crystal’
“He’s the real deal,” said Bau Graves, Executive Director of Chicago’s Old Town School of Folk Music. ”Mark has made music his life and livelihood. He’s been a top faculty member at the school for more than twenty-five years. His performances are elegant, rich and powerful.”
Dvorak released his seventeenth CD, “Back Home,” in July. “It’s a compilation of the different kinds of songs I like to perform live,” said the singer, who recorded the project in his home studio, and played all the instruments. “I like being able to work in the comfort of my home studio. At home, I can work until I get a take I really like; something that has the energy and life of a live performance,” he said.
